Finding Balance in a Busy August
I’m starting off with a jam-packed week—which feels a little off for August, a month that’s supposed to be slow and easy.
To balance things out, I’m planning a bit of downtime at my ranch in Montana later this month. I’ll share photos when I’m there—it’s truly one of my happiest places.
I hope you’re getting some rest and relaxation too. It’s just as essential to our well-being as healthy food!
At home, I’m keeping things simple and easy. When I need kitchen inspiration, I always turn to my friend Pamela Salzman. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you should. Pamela is smart, stylish, and also a mad pickleball player! Check out Pamela's blog here.
What I'm Doing in My Garden
Lately, I’ve been dreaming about what my garden will look like next year. Right now, we’re almost finished clearing the lot—it’s taken three huge truckloads of debris to get to this point. I can’t wait to see it all cleaned out.
The plan is to bring back my olive trees, roses, and lavender. I’ll also be adding more succulents around the perimeter for a natural fire barrier. I’m focusing on drought-tolerant plants full of water—like ice plants—to help keep things safe and beautiful.

What I’m Doing in the Shop
I added this section so you can follow along as I rebuild my business. I’d love your feedback—really. Let me know what you’d like to see in the shop or online!
It’s a little scary starting over again. I honestly don’t know how many people will make their way to the Palisades this fall and holiday season to shop...but many of you have told me you will. So, fingers crossed. 🤞
We’re bringing in some beautiful new upholstery pieces that I’m really excited about. You can shop them online, but if you're local, come in and do a seat test!
I had the best time working with my team to select fabrics and pillows—pieces I know you’ll love. It felt like the old days.
What I'm Watching & Reading
I'm trying to keep my cart empty this week…but let’s be honest, there’s always something. I have a black-tie wedding coming up for a dear friend’s daughter, and I’m so excited to be attending. I’ll be wearing a green floral dress and I’m on the hunt for a simple yet elegant handbag. Any recommendations?
Products I Love
With the humidity rising, I have to share an amazing flat iron I recently discovered. I’ve used the Japanese straightening system for years, but I’m trying to cut down on chemicals wherever I can—so that’s now on my no-go list.
This flat iron has been a game-changer. It smooths my curls into sleek, shiny hair with zero pull, and leaves it feeling like silk. Seriously the best.
Shop the ERGO Flat & Smoothing Iron.
Friday Feature: Non-Toxic Home
This week, we’re focusing on non-toxic living at home. I do my best to make sure everything that comes into my house—cleaning products, beauty items, whatever—is safe for me, my family, and our pets.
One brand I love is Koala Eco. They’re based in Australia and make beautiful, plant-based cleaning products that not only work, but smell divine.
When Areli is here helping keep the dog hair at bay, she uses the Koala Floor Cleaner—and the whole house smells fresh and feels extra clean.
Here’s a link to shop their brand store on Amazon:
