Happy Pets, Happy Home
This week I’m focusing on my beloved animals. I have two big Labrador retrievers, Bleu and Sunny.
I slipped a little and was letting them sleep on the one sofa I have—but then I thought better of it. If I only have one sofa, it really shouldn’t be covered in dog hair!
So, I bought them some new beds—in fact, I bought four. I put two BEDSURE memory foam mattresses underneath their soothing dog beds so they’re extra comfortable. It seems to be working, and they look very happy.
I also noticed my cat, Titus, was sneaking into the dog beds, so I bought him one of his own. Happy animals, happy life.
What I’m Doing in My Shop
We are working so hard to bring you the newest, prettiest website. We’ve been shopping non-stop and uploading amazing products that will ship directly to your home. From the softest sofas to the most chic drinkware, we have you covered.
It will feel just like shopping in my store—we’ll share why we love each piece and how we style it. Think of it as a mini Amazon from the Palisades!
We’re hoping to launch in September, so get your carts ready—we’re about to drop some incredible products.
A few examples:
-
Hotel Silver – What could be chicer than serving nuts in a Hotel Silver nut bowl? It not only elevates cocktail hour but also looks so pretty on your bar.
-
Johanna Howard Hand-Dipped Throws – These gorgeous throws are a wonderful addition to your family room or bedroom. You know I love my neutrals, but these are the perfect pop of color. With so many shades to choose from, they’re an instant favorite.
And so much more to come…
What I’m Watching/Reading
I’m not alone in indulging in some beachy summer shows. I tried to get my cousin into We Were Liars on Amazon Prime Video, but she couldn’t get into it. I, on the other hand, loved it! I never saw the ending coming.
If you enjoy a good mystery set at a Martha’s Vineyard beach house in summer—with great clothes, gorgeous homes, and a bit of family drama—this one’s for you. The setting reminded me of growing up in Connecticut (minus the crazy family) and definitely made me smile.
The heavier dramas can wait until fall—I’m savoring the light, breezy stuff for now.
What’s in My Cart
The twins’ 28th birthday is right around the corner, and I’m getting a head start. Shopping for 28-year-old twins is always a challenge!
I usually give them an experience because I think time spent traveling—hopefully together—is the greatest gift. This year, I’m starting with a safety gift.
I found this on Amazon and bought one for myself too. It’s called a Life Hammer from BEAM LAB, and it has so many features—it can cut a seatbelt and break glass if you ever need to escape your car. With all the unpredictable weather and events lately, it’s great to have this little gadget on hand.
Products I Love
My latest obsession is my LED face mask by Omnilux. Not only is it fantastic, but the company is so wonderful—they sent me a replacement at no charge after mine was lost in another wildfire.
t’s incredibly easy to use, and I’m already seeing my skin calm down. Just 10 minutes a day and those fine lines start to fade. Use it on freshly cleaned skin, and because it’s cordless, you can wear it while watching TV or listening to your favorite podcast.
What’s Happening in the Design Studio
Wow—have we been busy. As you know, our community has been rocked, and we’re slowly putting ourselves back together.
Room with a View, Room at the Beach, and Elizabeth Lamont have been part of this community for 35 years, and so many of our wonderful clients have been affected by the fires. We’re helping them get back home.
Many clients didn’t lose their homes but suffered severe smoke and toxin damage. We’re replacing, redoing, and refreshing these spaces. Some want exactly what they had, while others are ready for a whole new look. From outdoor furniture to sofas and beds, we’re replacing pieces that absorbed the toxins.
Our shop also had to replace much of its inventory. After a thorough cleaning of every surface, we’re excited to showcase new luxurious sofas, dining chairs, dressers, and more—stay tuned for our reopening date.
Have a great week, and remember to live beautifully.
XX, Elizabeth
